Summary: Getting ready for spring
Comment: It's snowing at the moment but I've got these great new shoes on, giving my feet an intimation of spring. I've had these shoes before and they're very comfortable and supportive. Not exactly a high-fashion statement, but they definitely fit in for everyday wear here in rural Maine.
These 498's are billed as running shoes but to me they seem a bit too high and heavily padded at the top for running; that gives them just the perfect hint of ankle support for walking in the woods in areas where I don't need boots.
The lining is very smooth and the sole is stable. I already know they hold up well and stay comfortable, and they're cool and lightweight. What a great find from the factory outlet!
Even though we're sure to have more snow in the next month, I'm so "over" my snowshoes and ready for early Daylight Savings Time and the muddy spring trails. Soon ... I can feel it in the air.
